Well, not ALL Emo people cut themselves, and enjoy it.most Emos do not cut themselves that's just what you think. They're very nice and have great personalities once you get to know them. They usually wear black and have long hair. They usually wear really skinny jeans too.
Goth people just wear black and hide in the shadows. They're probably pretty pale too. They share some characteristics such as sad, negative, and wear black. And they have long, black hair, as pretty much everything else on their body except their skin.
Both wear black, but not all are sad all the time., (they can be happy if they want to!!), and have long, black hair. They both also listen to heavy metal rock & roll.
being Emo isn't bad and being Goth isn't bad either. they are normal people like you and me and just like to be different. some people hate them but most "normal people" just ignore them thinking they are better. nobody is better, we are all the same with different taste of styles
hope this helps
Hm, there is a big difference between 'goth' and 'emo', though they're connected.
Goth was originally steriotyped as 'dark, vampirefreaks.', though that's not all true. Gothic means dark, though alot of goths are fans of mythical creatures, such as vampires, and are 'quiet.' That's not all true though. They're are many goths-- Mopey goth, Industrial Goth, Classic Goth, Neon Goth, et cetera, and the groups are growing as time goes by.
The goth look was steriotyped for females; dark makeup, long black hair, blood, black dresses with black tights and long black boots. For males; dark makeup, short black hair, black jackets with dark jeans and boots. That was the 'look'.
Then, there was Industrial Goth. Industrial goth wore chains, ripped gloves, spikes, studded things. That was part of punk, and that grew into its own clique. Then after punk and goth came, there was 'emo goth'. Emo goth started from Mopey goth and Industrial goth. They were steriotyped then as 'whiny, depressed, sucidal' and all that later.
Now, emo is its own clique, coming from goth and punk, and is still steriotyped badly. I'll now say the steriotypes. The 'emo' look for boys; Spiked hair, short, covering one eye. Tight jeans, band tee/ tight tee, 2 or more belts, checkered wristband, converse or vans, homosexual. The 'emo' look for girls; Short, messy hair covering one eye, tight jeans, sometimes a skirt with jeans or black tights under it, bright coloured shirts with broken hearts, converse, and accessories.
Then that's when people started to think that since emo was so different, yet it came out from goth, that they're the same thing. You can see they're not. Emo, now is also confused with another culture aside from ' weak punk' or 'goth without black', but scene.
Scene is for mostly girls who were emo but hated the tomboyish style, so they have long fluffy hair with 2-10 different colours, short tee's with bright colours and TOO much makeup (Jeffree Star is a good example.) and then short black skirts with tights under and cute shoes. They are those 'beautiful' emo's as people call them.
I hope this helps you understand about the WIDE difference between goth and emo, and what might be mistaken as those, punk or scene.
The term Goth refers to the Gothic Era. When everyone wore black and it was just a very dark time. The stereotypical "goth" person would be seen wearing tripp or bondage pants and a black longsleeve or mesh top.
Emo started as a music genre and has evolved into somesort of fashion stereotype. Most muscians get offended when called "emo" or when their music is called "emo." This is understandable because emo is often a derrogatory term, synonymous to crybaby or being a wuss.
Both "goths" and "emos" wear black, so most people get them confused. You shouldn't call anyone either name, and if they call themselves that, then they don't know what their talking about.
I apologize for making this long.
Theres honestly nothing different about emo and goth we are all human... Maybe.. but that's not the point. We all hate our life its just some choose to show it more than others. But really who cares what stereotype hangs over your head. People can't put a name on you because the way you dress or because you cut yourself.. you are you and people need to just get over crapp........
Let me get this straight...EMO DOESN'T MEAN THEY CUT THEMSELVES. Some people do, but I wouldn't refer that as emo.It is a stereotype. Emo really is short for emotional. goth might like goth Rock Music like the cure or Bauhaus and might dress in dark or black. Emos might like MCR and Hawthorne heights but might also have tight jeans and a hair fringe
Goths listen to Gothic Rock (Joy Division, Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure, The Sisters Of Mercy etc),
and emos listen to emotive rock (Jimmy Eat World, American Football, Weezer etc).
emos are a lot of the time miserable and cut themselves cause it feels better than life. goths are more normal, personality wise but emos and goths do both dress in black
New Person:
I wish to disagree with the person above. Emos are merely emotional people who have a possibly extremely low self-esteem. The exaggerated theory that emotional cut themselves I believe was just a rumor to make low self-esteem seem alot worse than they actually were. Of course. I can't really doubt that some emotional people really will kill themselves but what ever.
Goths are merely people who like to dress in black. Or at least that's all I've seen so far. Maybe a couple piercing here and there but yeah. Well that in simple terms...people who wear black. Yea.
emo is mostly the way you act expressing your feelings. goth is a type of style. the clothes are different, musics different, attitudes different...
I don't know what MOSHER is?!?!?! (1)attitude- emos are ussually sad and goths are ussually mad ir angry (2)style- goths wear nothing but black and emos wear many colors there are more things but I'm not sure about goths cus I'm emo so I can't answer anything more... Sorry
Because both emo's and goths have crazy hair, wear black, and are sorta dark.
i dont think its the thing to steriotype but yes goths and emos tend to like heavy rock bands such as Avenged Sevnfold.
Dude, it really all depends on who you are. You can be any label to like Avenged Sevenfold. Goths, emos, scenes and some NERDS like a7x so labels really don't matter when it comes to bands.
Goth is a very generalised term. In most cases yes. there are goths who dont. Its imposable to say for sure to all goths because there are as many different types of goths as there is goths themselves.
No, emos are not goths. They are two different subcultures.
Emos are a little more colorful than goths. We can also be more outgoing. Goths can also be worshipers of the devil and do witchcraft where as that is not common among emos. If you google pictures of emos then goths you'll see the difference.
Emos yes. Goths not so much.
goth.net
No. In spite of the common misconceptions that goths and emos are evil, they are not as evil as people play them out to be. Instead, when they die, their being is wiped entirely from existence just like everyone else.
I don't know what MOSHER is?!?!?! (1)attitude- emos are ussually sad and goths are ussually mad ir angry (2)style- goths wear nothing but black and emos wear many colors there are more things but I'm not sure about goths cus I'm emo so I can't answer anything more... Sorry
actually, they arent.i mean, there are probably some that are mean, but there are always 'sour apples.'if they are mean to them, it is probably because goths discriminate against emos, and pin them as whinny cry-babies, and say that they stole their style. it is just an argument between the two. it is irrelevant.
The only way to do that is to make world peace happen
Because both emo's and goths have crazy hair, wear black, and are sorta dark.
Of course not. I highly doubt that depression makes people emo
Try Hot Topic or another store that caters to goths and emos.
