∙ 14y agoThe difference between an herb and a spice is that an herb was used, and is still used, for healling: for example the eucalyptus leaf is used in cough drops, giving it the strong smell. Herbs are also used in medicines like tylonal or penasilin. Spices are olny used in foods, but so are herbs, which can confuse people. Another reason, rather simple, is that spices are the seeds, and even, fruit (like peppers or vanilla) of a plant, and herbs are the leaves, stems, or roots of a plant.
