human resource and hrm both are different , as the term specifies that hr is nothing but the human resource(people resource as like other resources) where as hrm is the management of human resources, hence human resource can be called as the employees in an organisations, hrm is the management of employees in an organisation

Absolutely nothing, they both mean the exact same thing... the management of people.

Human Resource Managers is an extension of the role of the personnel manger. Personnel Managers traditionally were responsible for taking care of staff needs like their vacation, sick leave, ect however the role has been revised to include Advisory as thre has been a new forcus on the Human Resource aspect. so basically it boils down to duties a personnel manager has less dutires and his/her dutires are restricted to the provision of paperwork concerning staff while a HRM has the additional dutry of Advisory, Planning, Directing, Organising, Cordination and Controling Human resource all in an effort the get the best out of them

there is a little bit of difference as the human resource manager entails a more strategic capacityin administration oof the business

What was known as Personnel Management (PM) was a very restricted concept. For a long time PM was dealing with matters related to employee recruitment and matters of legal compliance related to employment. Need for Employees was considered as there were no available machines to carry out certain tasks. What was expected from those employed was use of their hands and not so much of their heads.

Those who were managing didn't see anything special about the people factor in production process. In fact they were managing Money, Materials, and Machinery etc., in a more professional way. These branches of management had been developed to a higher degree under the name "Human Resources Management."

In 1970s they found other inputs of production were managed as valuable things. In fact these were considered valuable resources .That means those are considered resources not to be wasted but used efficiently & effectively. It was also seen that this resource management approach should be extended to the management of people resource i.e. Human Resource. Hence the name Human Resource Management (HRM).

They also appreciated the unique features of this resource and management theoreticians concluded that is the most important resource.

NB: The correct spelling is: personnel. There appears to be no functional distinction between the two titles in most companies. Human resources is a later term for Personnel Management. I'm sure that someone will come up with another snappy term in the future - for the same function.
