linker is used to change an object code into an executable code by linking together the necessary built in functions.
linkage:

One is a a map of the relative locations and the other is a picture.
If what you're asking is what's the difference between the words 'linkage' and 'link', it's something I've been puzzling about too.I think that you can find a link between two or more things and linkage would be the thing that connects them. So, A and B can be LINKED with a LINKAGE.

Salivary amylase breaks 1-4 Linkage whereas Pancreatic amylase breaks 1-6 linkage in Polysacharides
Aggregation means Linkage the molecules with each other in a way that allows for these molecules translational somewhat.agglomeration means linkage the molecules with each other strongly.
DVC6000 vs DVC6200: The main difference between the two petitioners is linkage. A DVC6200 has a magnetic linkage, while the DVC6000 has a mechanical linkage. A high vibration setup will cause more variance in the readings if you use a mechanical linkage, as well as contribute more wear and tear to the linkage.

There is no definite term "assembler" in compilation process. It is more like "compiler" and "linker". Assembler usually refers to a compiler of machine language: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assembly_language So you probably mean difference between compiler and linker? Lets say you have a 3 module program, and it uses a 3rd party library, then the compiler will just compile each of your modules (separately) into binary pieces, which have "unclosed" references to abovementioned library and other 2 modules. After u have 3 binary pieces comes in "linker" it attaches those "unclosed" (or unlinked) links to other modules and library, therefore giving you working program file (.exe file for example). Really hard to say that without a schema or something like that:) Hope this answer helped you.
