There is a one difference. Population's growth of P.aurelia is much faster than P.caudatum, so the first species squeezes out another population. But why? Because the first population has better ability to gain food and solar light to accelerate its growth.

What are the similarities and differences between and elodea cell and a paramecium cell?

the difference between an elodea cell & an paramecium cells, are that elodea cells can't survive on it's own because it is not a single celled organism and it has to work together with other elodea cells to survive. While paramecium cell on the other hand are single celled organisms and have everything that they need to live on their own

Which Type of competition would be observed between organisms within the P caudatum culture A Interspecific B Intraspecific C There would be no competition they are of the same species?

It would be intraspecific competition if this paramecium were alone in the culture; competing for limited resources. Interspecific if some other species were in the culture. Answer C is totally out, as competition and cooperation are not dichotomies, but exist in real situations same species or not.

What is the difference between paramecium and elodea cells?

Elodea Is a multicellular celled organism, paramecium is a single organism Another thing is that Elodea (being multicellular) can not survive on its own while on the other hand paramecium can

What is the difference between the macronucleus of a paramecium and a nucleus of a typical animal cell?

The nucleus in an animal cell is in charge of both reproduction and the function of the organelles, whereas the macro nucleus in a paramecium is only in charge of the function of the cell. The micro nucleus of the cell actually takes care of the reproduction part.

What is the difference between prokaryotic bacteria and eukaryotic bacteria?

All bacteria are prokaryotic, there are no eukaryotic bacteria. Prokaryotic organisms (bacteria, archaea) lack membrane bound organelles like nuclei and mitochondria. One other difference is the number and configuration of chromosomes. Prokaryotes have only 1 chromosome each, and unlike the multiple, linear chromosomes of eukaryotes (like us) a prokaryote's chromosome is circular in that it has no "ends."Another difference is that most prokarya are much smaller than eukaryotic cells. Most bacteria are about the size of a mitochondrion or chloroplast, somewhat near 1/1000th the size of a eukaryotic cell. There ARE unicellular eukaryotes, like Paramecium caudatum, or the one-celled fungus Saccharomyces cerevisae (yup, that's yeast) - but despite being tiny, these aren't bacteria.

In what ways are euglena different then paramecium and amoeba?

The most obvious difference between an amoeba and a paramecium or euglena is that the amoeba has no overall shape, and the entire cell changes its shape as the amoeba moves. The paramecium and the euglena both have definite shapes which they do not alter. The amoeba can engulf food particles at any point on its own cell membrane, but the paramedium has an oral groove which is where it ingests food particles. And the euglena also has a chloroplast, unlike the other two (or any other protozoan).
