A routable protocol contains a network address as well as a device address. Non-routable protocol, on the other hand, regulate the transfer of data and always makes use of interior routing system to transmit data.

∙ 13y agoA routable protocol (TCP/IP) can have its packets forwarded (or blocked) to other network segments according to network addressing.
A routable protocol (NETBEUI) does not contain network addressing, so it can only communicate between computers in the same network segment.
