The following is the most straightforward all-Canadian route: After crossing the Canso Causeway, follow the Trans-Canada Highway through Nova Scotia and New Brunswick to Autoroute 20 in Québec at Rivière-du-Loup. Then follow Autoroute 20 west along the south shore of the St Lawrence River, through Montréal, and to the border with Ontario. Québec's Autoroute 20 becomes Ontario's Highway 401 (otherwise known as the Macdonald-Cartier Freeway), which you can follow straight into Toronto.
The only Ocean that borders on Nova Scotia whether on the East, South or West is the Atlantic Ocean. There are smaller bodies of water that are all fed by the Atlantic Ocean that surround Nova Scotia. The Bay of Fundy on the Northern part of the West of Nova Scotia between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. To the far North and extending up to the North Eastern part of Cape Breton Island is the Northumberland Strait, fed both by the Canso strait and the Gulf of St Lawrence which is turn is joined to the Atlantic Ocean by the Cabot Strait. the Gulf of St Lawrence is the point that the St Lawrence seaway empties the Great Lakes chain.
