Levaquin is an antibiotic. Levaquin is in a group of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones (flor-o-KWIN-o-lones). It fights bacteria in the body. Levaquin is used to treat bacterial infections of the skin, sinuses, kidneys, bladder, or prostate. It is also used to treat bacterial infections that cause bronchitis or pneumonia. Levaquin may also be used for other purposes as prescribed by a health care professional. If you need information on this drug, I suggest contacting your health care professional. Please keep in mind that I'm not a health care professional, nor am I claiming to be one. I just happen to know this information because I take it for bladder and skin infections from time to time. Again, contact your doctor / healthcare professional if you have any questions about your medication. Good luck! :)

Antibiotics such as Keflex (cephalexin) only interfere with oral contraceptive pills as they affect their absorption into the body and therefore may interfere with the effectiveness of the pill. Injectable contraception such as DepoProvera is NOT effected. There are no known drug interactions between Keflex and Depo Provera.

Will you fail a drug test if taking levaquin?

If it's over the counter like caugh syrup, pills, or even LSD it won't show up on a drug test!(: however alcohol and and most notable drugs will, but none over the counter. No, Levaquin (levofloxacin) -- an antibiotic -- will not light up a positive on any modern drug screen.

What vitamins help with Levaquin withdrawal?

You may have some relief by taking magnesium and vitamin E supplements. Best to take them while you are taking the Levaquin, though. This is based on some in-vitro and animal research, which found reduced tendon damage from Levaquin when magnesium and vitamin E (tocopherol) were supplied. It's less likely to help after you finish the Levaquin, but maybe worth a try. I don't know of anything for neurological damage, or any research on this for humans. Note that you should not take magnesium supplements two hours before or after taking Levaquin, since it reduces the antibiotic effectiveness of the drug.

Can you take methadone and Levaquin?

Levaquin, I know can be taken and is given by some medical doctors for specific conditions such as bronchitis, pneumonia. etc. I have been told it is a dangerous drug and should only be used under the care of your personal physician and one should follow the directions just as he gives them..I am less familiar with methadone; it is a synthetic drug used to treat addiction. Both can be taken orally.
