Answer 1Islam is slowly converting Africans from the north towards south.

Answer 2

Islam is not a religion of violence and terrorism to convert Africans from the north to the south. Islam is the religion of peace and mankind cooperation for the benefit of mankind and environment. Islam is the God religion since start of universe creation. The North Africans had been converted from tribal environment who are always fighting to State environment who are doing for the country benefits. They worshiped who should be worshiped and stopped worshiping stones and statues. Refer to the related questions below.

Answer 3

Islam is a religion and ideas and beliefs in themselves do nothing. It is people acting on those beliefs that matter. Unfortunately, people have mixed motivations and it is not clear when someone is motivated for truly Islamic reasons, when someone is motivated for reasons that the particular person perceives as Islamic but are not actually Islamic, and when someone is motivated for reasons completely separate from Islam, such as economic, tribal, or political factors.

There is also a lack of clarity in the term "North Africa". It can either refer to Africa north of the Sahara exclusively or it can refer to the entire northern half of the continent. Muslims south of the Sahara, such as the Hausa-Fulani in Nigeria and Muslim Tribes in Cote d'Ivoire have a very different set of problems and political issues from Muslims north of the Sahara like the Amazigh (Berbers) and Arabs of the Maghreb and Egypt.

Assuming that you are referring exclusively to Africa north of the Sahara, Muslims drawing on their tradition have led to three general outcomes depending on whether they are in the Maghreb Nations (Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia), Libya, or Egypt.

The Maghreb countries are almost entirely Muslim, so there is no one left to convert. Islam serves more or less as a social lubricant creating a shared culture, shared festivals, and a shared language. This is critical in these countries where the ethnic divides between Arabs and Amazigh and the various tribes are difficult to overcome as well as the linguistic divides between the communities (Arabic and Amazigh languages are not related to each other).

In Libya, Islam most strongly manifests itself in the modern Islamist movements (movements that seek to implement Islamic Law in government processes) that have surged in the post-Qadhafi climate. Libya is much more tribal than any country in North Africa and similarly, Islam serves as a social lubricant between the various tribes. Additionally, Islam serves the function of setting the social order and many historical customs (even those antithetical to proper Islamic Law) are bound up with the Islamic Law and packaged as proper moral conduct. That makes it not only difficult politically for minorities (women and foreigners) to assert their rights but difficult socially since they are seen to be violating the Divinely prescribed social order.

In Egypt, there has also been a surge in Islamism, but unlike Libya, the social morays of the country are not uniform and there are roughly as many Secularists as there are Islamists. The Islamists see Islam as the only honest and forthright way to govern while the Secularists contend that only a rigid divide between "Mosque and State" is a viable long term objective. However, most Secularists are still relatively religious people and communicate in Islam-inspired language and poetry. The rise in Islamism in Egypt has also led to an increase in violence towards Christians and other minorities who are seen as strong Secularist supporters (for good reason since the Secularists promise them true equality and the Islamists do not).
