Usin…g this logic, you could connect the load to the supply using a resistor equal in resistance to the load. If you use a voltage divider, you will need to consider the load resistance, because that will alter the balance of the circuit. You will also need to consider the required power, as that power will also be developed across the series resistor. In high power applications, you might be better off with a switching power supply circuit.
