Canon has a reputation for rich and cpmolex color production. If color is your main concern the Canon might be something to look into. P.S. From my own experience Nikon (D90) tends to make the darker colors a little muddy. Canon's from what I've has better defined color separation. For example a river at sunset; My brother's Nikon has you asking is this a dark blue, a brown, a black? But the similar situation taken by a Canon would make very clear distinction of the brown edges as they get to a series of increasingly darker blues until you get the black in the middle. Just better for colors.
