To join in an engineering college as assistant professor, you have to posses M.E or M.Tech degree and you should have 5 years of teaching experience in an engineering college or research experience or industrial experience OR and Ph.D degree in the relevant field of Engineering.
It must be a first class in M.Sc. Applied Mathematics.
As per AICTE norms, a lectuter must be gate qualified
Master degree in Library Science and PG with any other discipline and five years experience.
As per AICTE NORMS University does not requires approval of AICTE.
AICTE is fully loaded with the work of prescribing the norms and standards of teachers of the technical institutes. AICTE coluld not find time in last 25 years to frame the pay scales and service conditions for the Technical supporting and Non teaching staff in the engineering colleges. AICTE has prescribed only the staff pattern of non-teaching staff in the booklet "AICTE Norms and standards for technical institutes, 1990". Since then, AICTE is totally ignoring the technical supporting and Non teaching Staff of the colleges under its recognition. No such PAY SCALES for non teaching staff are prescribed by AICTE till Date. S S RAUT

There is Rule in UGC norms about teaching load of Assistant Professors. I did not find any Rules as per AICTE. The teaching load of Assistant Professors is 16 and of Associate Professors and Professors it is 14 as per UGC Gazette.
As per AICTE norms 2010-11 and 2012-13 now polytechnic experience is equally considered for engineering college with PG qualification.
