Assuming that it is a Chevrolet 350 engine in the Caprice, the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. The locations of the cylinders are as follows: If you are standing in front of the car looking down at the motor, cylinder no. 1 is on your right and the front (closest to you) and on that driver's side of the engine, they number 1-3-5-7 starting from the grill working toward the firewall. On the passenger side, they number respectively 2-4-6-8. Good Luck
