- The Magician's Nephew
- The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe
- The Horse and his Boy
- Prince Caspian
- The Voyage of the dawn Treader
- The Silver Chair
- The Last Battle
The above is the chronological order of the books according to Narnian time, and it is the order that you will find them in in most box sets. However, many prefer to read the Chronicles in their published order, which would be
- The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
- Prince Caspian
- The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
- The Silver Chair
- The Horse and His Boy
- The Magician's Nephew
- The Last Battle
In this manner Aslan and the other characters get a proper introduction. If you start with The Magician's Nephew, the reader will not understand the full significance of Aslan and the Tree of Protection, for example.
