In the centrifugal casting process, molten metal is poured into a spinning die. The die can be spinning either on a vertical or horizontal axis depending on the configuration of the desired part. Ring and cylinder type shapes are cast vertically; tubular shapes are made with the horizontal centrifugal process. Either process may be used to produce multiple parts from just one casting.

Because of the high g-forces applied to the molten metal in the spinning die, less dense material, including impurities, "floats" to the I.D. where it is subsequently removed by machining. Solidification is managed directionally under pressure, from the O.D. to the I.D., avoiding any mid-wall shrinkage, leaving a defect-free structure without cavities or gas pockets.

How is statically cast stainless steel different from centrifugally cast stainless steel?

Centrifugal casting solidify under high G forces against the mold Inner Diameter. This promotes ideal directional solidification.Achieving a very fine and compact grain structure. The self cleansing action of the centrifugal casting process moves all slag and inclusions to the inner diameter. The remaining casting is free from all such impurities. The process is also called liquid forging as liquid metal is directly forced into shape.

Are centrifugal force and Reactive Centrifugal force the same thing?

Reactive centrifugal force is not the same thing as centrifugal force. Reactive centrifugal force is the reaction force. It is the reaction force reacting to a centripetal force.

What different between centrifugal pumps and multi pumps?

A centrifugal pump works by using centrifugal force. A multi pump is short for a multistage centrifugal pump with two or more impellers.

What is the difference between semi centrifugaal and centrifugal casting?

The basic difference is that rotation is a vital feature in centrifugal casting, if not emplyed, the casting won't be produced at all, whereas in SCC, we rotate the mould because - 1. Rotation of mould aids in the directional solidification of molten metal. 2. The centrifugal forces push the molten metal into complex parts of the cavity, and 3. The impurities easily get collected near the central core. The mould would still be able to cast the molten metal, but rotating it only makes a better casting. There are some other differences, like, Core is used in SCC, it may/may not be used in CC. SCC used for more complex shapes, while CC is used mostly used making hollow objects like pipes, tubes and bushes. SCC uses a vertical axis, whereas tcc may use a horizontal or vertical or inclined axis. Rotating speeds are lower in SCC compared to tcc.
