The hottest flame color is white, with the absolute temperature dependent on the fuel/mixture burned.

Flame color depends on several factors, the most important typically being blackbody radiation and spectral band emission, with both spectral line emission and spectral line absorption playing smaller roles. In the most common type of flame, hydrocarbon flames, the most important factor determining color is oxygen supply and the extent of fuel-oxygen "pre-mixture", which determines the rate of combustion and thus the temperature and reaction paths, thereby producing different color hues.

Generally speaking, the coolest part of a diffusion (incomplete combustion) flame will be red, transitioning to orange, yellow, and white the temperature increases as evidenced by changes in the blackbody radiation spectrum. For a given flame's region, the closer to white on this scale, the hotter that section of the flame is. The transitions are often apparent in TV pictures of fires, in which the color emitted closest to the fuel is white, with an orange section above it, and reddish flames the highest of all. Beyond the red the temperature is too low to sustain combustion, and black soot escapes.

A blue/green colored flame only emerges when the amount of soot decreases and the blue emissions from excited molecular radicals become dominant. Specifically, the blue color arises due to emission of excited molecular radicals in the flame, which emit most of their light well below ~565 nanometers in the blue and green regions of the visible spectrum.

Yes it is true that white flame is the Hottest but regarding the spectrum of heat we are totally confused. In one direction you are right that the Red is cooler than the Orange , Orange flame is cooler than Yellow and Yellow Flame is cooler than White Flame,But on the other hand the Cyan Flame is cooler than the White , Blue is cooler than Cyan and Violet Flames are cooler than the Blue Flames.Green Flames are the mixture of Cyan and Yellow Flame so the total heat will be in between .It is also true that if you see white flame you will never see Green and if you see Green you will never see White. This is the reason in Black Body radiation you are able to see Green but unable to see

White. The White should be placed in between Cyan and Yellow Flame and Green flame is also in between Cyan and Yellow as Green is formed due to the mixture of Cyan and Yellow. You will surprise to know that the white light is not splitting into spectrum,it is the Black color( Darknes /No Light ) around the White light, which is creating spectrum. Please go through my answer in wikianswer regarding "white light splits into seven colours".

Thus Black is the coolest one.

Here one should know that the extreme white flame is invisible to eyes as the cells of retina are unable to perceive it and you feel darkness around you and same thing is happening with the ultra violet and X rays and Gamma rays.Gamma Rays are nearest to the ultra white flame.Ulra violet rays are not the rays beyond violet rays of spectrum.Ultra violet rays are in between the Cyan and the White flame. You can see the violet flame above the Cyan flames after a gap ( above Cyan flames there is a gap for blue, but here blue is not visible / formed ) ,daily in the gas burner of your Kitchen.

It is also true Blue star are hotter than the Red star .To prove make different colored blocks in your computer moniter and convert them into gray scale and now analase them. The color which is nearer to the white scale is the hotter color in terms of Thermal energy and those are nearer to the black scale are cooler one. You will find that the Green is hotter than the Red and Blue ,but light Blue is hotter than the Red.Dark Blue is cooler than the Red.

In Human, Psychlogy is involved with the color therefore the meaning of the color changes but still it can be explained.Red is related to Blood so Red is considered as Furious color.White stands for Purity..no dust ,no particle ,no color means pure / Clean.

Red , Blue are best visible color in white light which you compare with Black in White. Thus in few countries the Bridal dress is Red so that the Bride should be visible more in the crowd ( and crowd is not wearing Red ).You will find that for the vision the contrast is followed everywhere.

Not surprisingly, the inside (usually blue) is hottest. The outside (orange or red), which has cooler air surrounding it, and is further removed from the actual point of combustion, is coolest.

The colour of a flame in relation to energy follows the visible spectrum. The more energy (hotter) a flame has then it goes violet/Blue. The weaker it is it goes yellow/red.

The actual strength of a flame/ the flames energy level has to do with the level of oxygen it receives. If you look at a Bunsen burner the safety flame is the coolest and it is yellow/red. The more oxygen the flame receives the more complete the combustion, and the bunser burner flame becomes hotter and turns blue.

The inital yellow flame is a sign of incomplete combustion. And is the coolest part of a flame

Some people say blondes, and some brunettes, but red heads really go off like a frog in a sock. It's like they're trying to make up for being rangas. And that's hot!

When should the flame of a Bunsen burner with the collar open be used?

When you want to heat something!! well wen it is closed is when it is at its hottest, its a heating flame, open is for safety that's when it is at its coolest like a safety flame. what i rote when you want to heat something is rong at the top. that's for if it is closed

What are the parts of a flame?

Not sure which part is which but some of them are: oxidizing reducing Not sure which part is which but some of them are: oxidizing reducing

What is a regular flame on the Bunsen burner?

I am not 100% sure what you are asking here however I will do my best to answer it. The gas that is used in most bunsen burners is methane (natural gas). This is not true for all labs as I have heard of labs using town gas (which is made from distillation of coal). A regular flame on a bunsen is orange this the coolest flame (300°C) and is rarely used. more common will be the blue flame which closer to 700°C. When leaving the bunsen for any length of time the orange flame should be left on as it is easy to observe and insures the safety of your fellow class mates.

What are Two kinds of flame?

the yellow/safety flame - thats the one that burns less the blue flame - burns THE ROARING FLAME - that one burns a lot and you can tell the difference from the blue flame because it makes a roaring sound

What type of a flame is best to use?

if you are talking about what flame to use on a Bunsen burner than the yellow flame is to make sure that everyone knows that there is a flame but the blue flame (less visible) is used as the hotter flame and the better one.

What color flame has the coolest temperature?

I'm not an expert, but I think it depends on what you're burning, if it is a gas fire than a lazy yellow flame is the coolest. But if you're burning carbons, (paper, charcoal, etc.) than a greenish flame is the coolest.
