Inertia of motion is the resistance mass has to motion. It also is the resistance in change in momentum. Momentum includes two things: velocity and direction. When an object changes its velocity, the momentum of the object resists the change. Also, when an object does change its velocity, its momentum is directly changed.

In general, the inertia of motion is matter's unwillingness to change velocity or momentum.

Inertia: the property of matter that resists changes in motion.

What are the kinds of inertia?

There are actually 3 kinds of inertia. They are as follows : 1. Inertia of Rest 2. Inertia of Motion 3. Inertia of Direction But nowadays people consider that there are 2 kinds of inertia , inertia of rest and inertia of motion.

Is motion the same with inertia?

Inertia resists the change in its motion/ velocity, and is proportional to its mass.

An object wants to mantain its state of motion because it has what?

This is Newton's First Law of Motion. Objects in motion stay in motion because of inertia (refer to the law of inertia for additional help).

Which of Newton's laws explain inertia?

newton's first law of motion is also known as LAW OF INERTIA. inertia is the property of a body by which every body if is in rest it tends to remain in rest and if in motion it tends to remain in motion.
