What is the worlds largest ferret?

I have a 6 year-old male ferret that weighs 9.2 pounds. I'm sure he's not the world's largest, but I have never heard of a ferret larger than him. And Guinness does not currently have a record for the world's largest ferret.

Within the genus Mustela, ferrets belong to thesubgenus Putorius, from which there are only three extant species: M. putorius, the European polecat; M. eversmanni, the Siberian, or steppe polecat; and M. nigripes, the black-footed ferret.

The European polecat ferret lives in open forests and meadows, and is thought to be the ancestor of the domestic ferret.

The Siberian polecat ferret looks nearly identical to the black-footed ferret and leads a similar life on open grasslands and semi desert regions across Russia, China and Siberia.

There are also separate markings that can appear on any but the white ferrets:

• Mitts - White paws

• Hooded or Banded - Band over the eyes that sometimes continues over the head.

• Siamese - Have eye rings and a line or zipper running down the underside.

• Panda - Have white head, belly and feet.

• Blaze - White bib and head with colored streak or blaze

If your ferret has a color but also a pattern, you call it a color-pattern; for example, if you had a silver ferret with white paws, you would call it a Silver-mitt.

Ferrets come in many different colors. Most of them are black and brown, but they also come in white, gray, light brown, or a mix of all of these colors. A trade mark of most ferrets is the black or brown around the eyes known as "the bandit". It makes them look like they are wearing mask.

Sable ferret coloring - The guard hairs are dark in color, ranging from darkest brown to black. The undercoat on the neck, belly, back is cream colored, and it may show through.
