With a GPA of 3.5, it is very difficult to get into Berkeley regardless of your SAT score. The main issue is that if you score a 1700-2100, you have no chance. Yet if you magically score a 2400 or at least a 2300, it will seem like you are lazy in school and colleges do not want students like this either. If you have excellent extra curriculars and recommendation letters, you may be able to get by. This means ranked in state for some sport, ASB president, etc. It helps if your school sends many students to Cal as well (examples include Monta Vista High School, Lynbrook High School, Mission San Jose High School, the Harker School, etc.) as the admissions office will be familiar with the rigor of your school's curriculum.
Keep in mind that each candidate is reviewed on a case-by-case basis. There is no "rubric" as such. This advice is just to keep you on par with other candidates.
Answer1000SAT doesn't really matter. All UC's admissions are done on their own scale. Its called a UC Score. Each variable is given certain number of creds. Like getting a 3.5 means you need to get 143 UC score cred to be eligible. If you want to get in. I would say you should have something like a 3.8 to 4.0 weighted, and then between 18 and 1900 SAT. You also want to get at least 500 on all your SATII's though getting 600 would be better. My stats right now are pretty low too, but hey, what can we do. I have something like a 4.2 GPA, 1700 SAT, and 600/630 SATII's. My chances are good because I have a high GPA, but slim because Low SAT score conversion. So just get into the 1900 and your set.

Unless you are extraordinary in sports, your chances are that of zero. The average UC Berkeley GPA is 4.18 and even UC Davis is a 4.0. Plus, the minimum required high school GPA is a 3.0. I have a 4.17 average and I still worry about getting into Berkeley.
