Sexual intercourse- Anal or Vaginal intercourse, as well as sharing sex toys, also helps in spreading the virus.
It is also possible to an infected pregnant woman to give the virus to her baby, but this is not the most common way it is spread. Also, some babies get a false positive, because some test positive for antibodies, and never are found to have the virus at all.

The rectum is not really "designed" for this action and is at high risk of developing small cracks or rifts in the tissue/skin.
As soon as there is an opening into the path of blood, you are at very high risk of contracting the disease from a partner.
