Celebrities that Should Be Playing Sports Instead
Anyone who has seen the 6-foot-1-inch tall Tatum run across movie screens knows he would make an excellent NFL player. He's muscular, and has the pretty-boy face that is sure …to attract female fans."Die Hard" tough guy Bruce Willis could play any sport he wanted to, but baseball would likely be his game. At 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing around 210 pounds, this agile action star could easily run his way around the bases and hit an amazing home run.It would be very hard to think of a better football player than the actor who plays the demi-god, Thor. Hemsworth stands at an impressive 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs around 210 pounds, meaning he could seriously kick some butt on the football field. Besides that, there's not a woman in the world who wouldn't want to watch him do it.The president of the United States has never tried to hide his love for basketball, so perhaps he would be the perfect addition to the NBA. Standing at 6 foot, 1 inch tall, Obama would be able to play point guard with the best players in the NBA.Eminem always seems to have the same mean glare on his face, no matter what he's doing. He rarely smiles and always looks the same, and that's why he should play championship poker. Imagine sitting next to him trying to imagine what he has in his hand. It would be close to impossible, but you probably don't have to worry. He makes more money from his music than he ever would playing poker..Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing around 225 pounds, Vin Diesel could play just about any sport he wanted to. He would make an excellent linebacker for any team and has enough speed to make him successful. You may be wondering how the tiny Daniel Radcliffe could possibly make a good athlete. Keep in mind that there is one sport in which his 5-foot-5-inch tall and 117-pound frame would come in handy and that sport is horse racing. Jockeys have to weigh less than 126 pounds to participate in races like the Kentucky Derby, and his height is average for a horse jockey. (MORE)

10 Stars Who Played Sports Heroes
When it came time to make a film about legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, Will Smith refused even though Ali himself requested the actor. "Intellectually, I didn't feel that I poss…essed what it took to become Muhammad Ali," he said in an interview with ABC. Director Michael Mann finally convinced Smith by promising to get him the best trainers in the world. The role led to an Academy Award nomination. In 2009, Matt Damon played Francois Pienaar, the captain of the Springboks, a South African rugby union team. Damon claimed he spent many hours inside a Miami Beach gym preparing for the role, and it paid off. The actor earned an Academy Award nomination for "Best Supporting Actor" that year.Former boxer Mickey Rourke's acting career has had a great deal of ups and downs, but his shining moment came in 2008 when he played Randy "The Ram" Robinson in the film "The Wrestler." He claims he trained every day, all day for seven months straight to get the look of a 1980s wrestler. He went on to earn an Academy Award nomination for "Best Actor."Mark Wahlberg is already famous for being in great shape, but when he played boxer Micky Ward in the 2010 film "The Fighter," he had to go the extra mile. The actor claims it took four years to get into that kind of shape, and he even had a boxing gym installed in his home. Wahlberg earned a Golden Globe nomination for the film.In 1992's "White Men Can't Jump," Wesley Snipes played street-ball hustler Sidney Deane. NBA hall of famer Bob Lanier, who also played a role in the film, said Snipes' basketball game was surprisingly good. Lanier claimed the actor was good enough to play on a Division III college team.Russell Crowe played heavyweight boxing champion James J. Braddock in the 2005 film "Cinderella Man," a role that earned the actor a "Best Actor" Golden Globe nomination. Of course, the role required Crowe to undergo some intense training. His daily regimen included a combination of activities like kayaking, swimming, running, biking, hiking, skipping rope, and working a bag.In 1999, Denzel Washington played controversial boxer Rubin "Hurricane" Carter in "The Hurricane." Despite protests due to the nature of Carter's overturned murder sentence, Washington won a Golden Globe and earned an Academy Award. The actor enjoyed boxing so much that he used it to stay in shape until he started developing headaches.Algenis Perez Soto earned a starring role in the film "Sugar" when the director spotted him playing baseball with a group of friends and asked him to audition. It was his first acting gig. The movie tells the story of Miguel "Sugar" Santos, a man who struggled to pull himself out of poverty and make it as a Major League Baseball player.English film star Tom Hardy worked hard to build his body to play hardcore criminal and fighter Charles Bronson. He even spent time with Bronson in real life, and the man was so impressed with Hardy's ability to imitate him that he shaved off his mustache and let the actor use the real hair from it in the film. One of acting superstar Robert De Niro's most memorable roles was that of Jake LaMotta in "Raging Bull." In order to prepare for the role, De Niro entered three real boxing matches, and he won two of them. He probably did not care too much about losing the third when he won the Academy Award for "Best Actor" for the role. Some of Hollywood's biggest actors have undergone big physical and mental transformations to play major sports stars. For many of them, it paid off with numerous awards and nominations.During the filming of "Raging Bull" Robert De Niro really punched Joe Pesci during a sparring scene. The result was a broken rib. 10 Worst People in the Sports World
Hernandez is a good looking guy with a bright smile that could light up a room. He was also difficult to defend with the Patriots. Unfortunately, Aaron doesn't play well with …others. It seems like everyone that associates with this guy ends up in a body bag. Hernandez is, apparently, about as mediocre of a human being as you could possibly meet. Fortunately, he'll probably never see the light of day again. Good riddance. The Juice hasn't been on the loose since 2008 thanks to a near life sentence he received in Nevada for armed robbery. Anyone else would have received a year maximum for this crime, but OJ is different. The former star running back had a prison ticket to cash after he (allegedly) got away with double murder many years earlier.Sterling's recent racist blast shouldn't come as a surprise. After all, this is the same guy that refused to rent his property out to African Americans. He's the stereotypical wealthy, old CEO. He only cares about making money, no matter whom he screws over in the process. His lifetime ban from the NBA was well deserved. He'll be missed by absolutely no one.A-Rod is a different kind of bad person than most on this list because he hasn't murdered anyone, nor is he a known racist. But he's not a good dude. A-Rod is a cheater and a liar and his act has no business in baseball. Once a loved athlete, Rodriguez is now a disgraced athlete, as he should be.You may have forgotten all about Ray-Ray's murder incident in 2000. We haven't. We'll probably never know what Ray's involvement in the brutal slaying was, whether he was the murderer or just nearby. But what we do know is Ray knows what happened. And he refuses to admit to it. Murderer or not, an innocent person was killed and justice will never be brought thanks to Ray acting like he knows nothing.Armstrong is quite the piece of work. He fooled society for many years into believing he was a good dude that didn't cheat. Turns out he was lying all along. And the worst part of it is Armstrong hid behind a great charity to make people think he's a good guy. The sports world doesn't have room for people of such low character. It's been 24 years since Charlie Hustle was banned from baseball for life. He deserved everything he got. Pete was a liar and a degenerate gambler that disgraced the game of baseball as much as the steroid users. Karma got to Rose later in life as he's now become desperate for money, signing autographs in Las Vegas frequently to make a few bucks. He probably just blows that money at the sportsbooks afterwards.Incognito disgraced himself as an offensive lineman for Nebraska and then Oregon after getting booted from the Husker football team. This guy is an absolute pile of garbage. He bullies, threatens and then does what every bully does; blame the person he's bullying and pretend to be the victim.Don King is, quite simply put, a bad person. He's been a bad person his entire life. From charges of manslaughter to screwing boxers out of money, King is another absolute pile of garbage. If there truly is a heaven and hell, you can rest assured this guy won't be walking through the pearly gates.Vick appears to have changed his life around. And he did pay his debt to society. But you simply cannot forget about the disgusting crime he committed. Vick will never be able to apologize enough to make up for what he did. It shouldn't come as a surprise his brother Marcus has been in trouble with the law a few times. He's just taking after big bro. (MORE)
10 Ways Playing Sports Can Help in Everyday Life
Playing sports is a great way to develop discipline because you are constantly trying to improve your performance and stick with a schedule. You know your team is counting on …you to be there for practice as well as the games and you learn to discipline yourself so that you don't let them down. This method of living applied to work, school, and family is a recipe for certain success.People who watch sporting events probably don't realize just how organized the events are. Each person has a position or strength to play. All of the positions have to work together to obtain the end result of success. That takes organization as well as dedication. Life is all about multitasking, which means that organization is the foundation for any type of success. Each player is a part of a larger whole. Just like in a family or business, each person has an important part. No one person is the most important. Even when it comes to solo sports like diving competitions, the goal is for the team to work together individually to succeed as a whole. This is a valuable lesson for anyone who is a part of a business or family.Physical exercise can be a habit you develop over time or something you avoid. If you play sports, you get in the habit of being physically active. That means you are more likely to continue being physically active and less likely to be a couch potato.Playing sports means that you represent something bigger than yourself. You learn to feel a sense of pride in the group you belong to as well as pride in yourself for being a positive part of that group. This helps you make educated decisions when it comes to groups that you do or don't want to be associated with in the future.Things like sportsmanship aren't just for sporting events. If you can treat an opposing player with respect, you can treat strangers and those you love with respect as well. You learn to appreciate that everyone has value, even if they are on the opposite side of your own.Being involved in any kind of sport means that you want your body in the best shape possible. That means you have to make choices between doing things that are unhealthy for you and doing things that show respect to your body. Before you ever played a sport, someone had to explain how to play. As you became more involved in sports, your coach helped you fine-tune your actions. You saw the results and understood that your coach had valuable advice to offer. When you carry that lesson through your everyday life, you learn to listen to people who can help you succeed through sharing their knowledge.Diversity comes in many forms. You might be a great batter, but a horrible pitcher. You might connect with people of other cultures over your common love for the sport. You might learn something new from anyone you encounter. Keep this lesson in mind when you meet someone in your daily life who may seem a little different. If anything, learn to embrace the differences just as you would embrace a concept from an opposing team member that was more effective than your own methods. How well would your team play if they only heard negative criticism? The uplifting speeches and words of encouragement from your coach and team members are a clear indication of the impact of positive speaking. Carry that idea with you as you speak with people in your everyday life. Imagine that each person you meet is on the same team as you and responds best to encouragement instead of criticism. (MORE)

Tips to safely exercise or play sports in intense heat
Temperatures in much of the United States can reach dangerously high levels during the summer months. As teams in football and other school sports start training and recreatio…nal and competitive youth and adult teams enter months of frequent competition, knowing how to train safely in the heat is critical to avoid heat illness. This article offers recommendations for all athletes training and competing in hot, humid weather.Take several weeks and gradually increase training in the heat to prepare for the first full practice or competition. Likewise, work to improve your cardiovascular fitness in the months prior to the start of the season to better prepare your body for the heat.Whenever possible, choose lightweight, light-colored, and breathable clothing for training. If it is possible, try to exercise or practice early in the morning. Alternatively, consider training in the evening rather than the middle of the day.Drink adequate amounts of water or sports drinks before, during, and after practice or exercise. Also avoid drinks with caffeine and alcohol. If you are training for over an hour or multiple times in a day, consider drinking a sports drink with electrolytes, especially sodium, to properly rehydrate.Taking body weight measurements can provide you with a good indication of whether you are keeping up with the fluid lost through your sweat.Take longer, more frequent breaks than you might need in cooler conditions. If possible, aim for 20 minutes of rest for every hour of training. Try to take breaks in the shade or inside if possible.Try to ensure that athletic trainers, paramedics, or other medical professionals trained in heat illness are available on site for team practices or competitions. Make sure that the staff at each facility has an action plan for contacting emergency services if an athlete develops heat illness. Stop training or remove a player from training or competition for any sign of heat illness. These are a few of the signs which could indicate that an athlete could be developing heat illness: decreased performance, mental status or personality changes, flushing, dizziness, fatigue, vomiting, headaches, feeling very hot or cold. If any of these signs or other changes in status are present, remove the player and start treatment. (MORE)

Top Plays of 2014 World Cup
The 2014 FIFA World Cup was one for the books, with lots of exciting action and surprising outcomes. Relive the top plays of the tournament here...In the very first game for t…he Dutch and a rematch of the final game of the 2010 World Cup, Robin van Persie scored what was arguably the goal of the tournament. RVP received a 30-yard pass at the top of the box from teammate Daley Blind while running towards the net. Somehow, RVP managed to watch the ball come in from behind his left side and make the perfect jump to head the ball over Spanish keeper Casillas and into the goal.In the 92nd minute against Chile, the Dutch again combined to cement their lead. The speedy Robben received an excellent ball towards the corner from the left side of the Dutch defensive third, running on to it and making a great square pass in front of the net. The centered ball was picked up by Memphis Depay, sprinting as fast if not faster than Robben, who tapped it in to make the score 2-0.Another group play goal, Tim Cahill of Australia had what also could be considered the best goal of the World Cup. The Netherlands had just made the score 1-0 and Australia had to do something to keep themselves in the game, and Cahill did just that. Receive a lob from the middle third of the pitch, Cahill volleyed it in the air with his left foot from about 12 yards away, hitting the ball off of the crossbar and across the line.A brilliant strike to end a brilliant World Cup. Mario Gotze received a cross into the box from teammate André Schurrle in the 112th minute against Argentina. Gotze chested it to his left foot for the volley past Sergio Romero to send the Germans to World Cup glory.James Rodriguez, the Golden Boy of the World Cup, also had a strike in contention for the best of the tournament. Against Uruguay, James got the ball in the air just outside the arc atop the goal box. With his back to the goal, James chested it, turned, and volleyed it off the crossbar into the net. Out of nowhere, Rodriguez gave his team the lead that would eventually bring them to face Brazil. In the final moments of the USA-Portugal game, Silvestre Varela shocked the Americans and the world with a game-tying draw. On an amazing cross into the box from Cristiano Ronaldo, Varela headed the ball past Tim Howard to tie the match 2-2.Not surprisingly, the plays that stood out from this World Cup were goals; however scoring isn't the only thing in soccer. While this is obviously more than one play, it definitely merits a mention on this list. Tim Howard made 16 saves during the game, which is a World Cup record. Almost a brick wall behind the United States' defense, Tim Howard unfortunately was not enough to save the US team. (MORE)

What is the most expensive sport in the world?
Most Expensive Sport Horse Racing is by far the most expensive sport in the world. Known as 'The Stock Market of Sports'. This requires the most money for mantaining and… the keep towards the animals and even the Jockies' diets in order to keep fit. It is more of a way of life, and the expense of a life for a sport that is watched and proclaimed around the world. *Note: Racing such as Nascar and Formula One are not recognized as sports, being that physical exertion is not necessary, which is the same reason why video games, etc are not as such either. There is a difference between a 'sport' and an 'event'. Wrong completely. Formula 1 and association football (a.k.a. soccer) when considering the top teams budgets. F1 is a recognized global sport (maybe not or less in America) witch demand very high level fitness due to the high G forces, reaction times and very high dehydration (most severe in all sports).
