Freya Angood invented algebra in 1923 when her grandparents told her that there is always a way around things. This encouraged Freya to think of different ways to solve maths …problems at school for she could not read any maths questions right . When she had figured this out she told her friends and families about her new ways and used this method for other uses. do you know what uses?
Although some have said Archimedes, my opinion is that the formulas for area and perimeter of a rectangle were well known before his time (300BC). The Babylonians in 1500BC kn…ew how to create Pythagorean triples, so I wouldn't be surprised if they knew this. Archimedes did discover more difficult formulas, such as perimeter and area of a circle, and volume of a sphere and a cone.
Every mathematician uses/used integers. It is one of the most important number sets.
Well, she wasn't exactly a mathematician as being queen of France ;-). She did invent one mathematical design though, called La Harpie. When the French soldiers we…nt to America to help the Americans fight their revolution, the news came back to Paris from the front that soldiers had seen a new animal specie they had never seen before, and they called it the Harpie. At that specific time, the pouf-hairstyle invented by Marie Antoinette was hotter than hot, and it was especially the trend to have one that portrayed an event. So Marie Antoinette designed a triangular design that was supposed to present the Harpie and had it printed on several dresses and ribbons. Soon it was a huge trend and everybody dressed "a la Harpie". It looked a little like the Louis Vutton logo and was a mathematical design.
0 and infinity.
In Renaissance Europe, he was considered the original inventor of algebra, although we now know that his work is based on older Indian or Greek sources. He revised Ptolemy'…s Geography and wrote on astronomy and astrology.
Muslim mathematicians are responsible for introducing our number system. That is why we call them Arabic numerals. They developed the concept of zero as a value, the decim…al system, arithmetic operations, exponentiation and square root determination. and various concepts such as proof by mathematical induction A lot of work was also done in algebra and geometry, trigonometry and more.
What is the name of the system of numbers invented by the Muslim mathematicians that you still use today?
