Best Answer

CH3CH3OH cannot be an organic compound. Carbon (C) has an octet of four valence electrons, in other words it binds to four other elements / compounds, etc. The middle Carbon is bound to 3 H, 1 C, and 1 OH = 5 not 4. The middle CH3 should be CH2 which would give CH3CH2OH and this compound is named "Ethanol."

The compound CH3OH has several names. The chemical name is methanol. It is also know as wood alcohol or embalming fluid. Occasionally moonshiners make a mistake and get wood in their sour MASH. As a result, they get methanol in with their ethanol. As a result their customers overdose on wood alcohol. When the undertaker gets there, the body is already embalmed.

You probably mean CH3CH2COOH, this is propanoic acid. CH3CH2OOH would be a very unstable molecule where the carbon closest to the oxygen would be tetravalent and both oxygens would have two bonds (they would prefer a double bond with carbon, which is why CH3CH2COOH is so much more stable)

CH3OH is not a base and neither is it an acid. This is the chemical formula of methanol which is an alcohol.

What is the chemical name of this chemical formula of CH3OH?

This is the formula for Methanol, also known as wood alcohol. (Most of the Methanol on the market is actually sourced from petroleum, not wood, as it's cheaper and quicker to get it that way.)

What is the mass in grams of 9.32x1024 molecules of methanol CH3OH?

9.32*1024 (molec's CH3OH) / 6.022*1023 (molec's.mol−1 CH3OH) * 32.04 (g mol−1 CH3OH) = 495.8 g = 496 g CH3OH

How did methyl violet methyl blue and methylene blue come to be called this name?

The "methyl" and "methylene" come from their chemical structures. Something that has "methyl" in its name contains a methyl group - CH3. A common chemical like this is methyl alcohol - CH3OH. The methylene group is CH2. The blue and violet? That's what color they are.
