No new planets have been found near our Sun.

There's far too many exoplanets to give individual names so a systematic method is required. Exoplanets receive names based on their host star. Consider the star Pollux. The first discovered planet orbiting around it is called "Pollux b" (where A denotes the star). If a second planet were found around Pollux, it would be called Pollux c. And for a third planet, Pollux d, and so on.
