In the Menominee language (part of the Algonquian group) the word meaning a crow (the bird, not the tribe) is na:htek and [he is] silent is pahka:hesew, so - *na:htek pahka:hesew would be the theoretical translation.

In Catawba (part of the Siouan language group), ee ninda`sare means "the crow does not speak".

In Oneida (part of the Iroquoian group), ká·ka-atahuhsatote means "the crow he is silent".
