Reno is not noted for saving old buildings. However I believe a building on the west side of North Virginia street at the south west corner of Douglas Alley is the oldest building in Reno. It at one time was a Masonic Temple, then a general store, then a casino (Old Reno?) then the Flamingo. It was sold and the bird of the Flamingo was repainted and it became the Golden Phoenix. I think it was bought by Fitzgerald's Casino, which went out of business. New owners are planning some renovation of the Fitzgerald property but do not know if includes this building.
Along the same lines, Morrill Hall is the oldest building at the University of Nevada. It at one time was the entire university, containing all the class rooms, library and living quarters. It was finished in 1886. If you consider the University of Nevada as being "in" Reno, then that is the oldest building.
(This does not include wood houses. There is such a debate as to which one is the oldest, I left them off the list. )
