Melting or it melts is how it changes state

A change in tempature or pressure would accomplish this.
melting
When something changes from solid to liquid, its melting. When it changes from liquid to gas, it's boiling as gas bubbles form in the liquid and escape through the surface.

physical change

The change of matter from solid to liquid is called Melting. It is a process where solids, like ice, change into its liquid form, water.

Melting
The change from solid to liquid is called MELTING

for pure substances .. the change occurs at a steady constant temperature.

e.g. for ice , it occurs at 100 'C .......hope that might help.... ^^ !!

This is a phase change reaction. If you think about it, a solid is more ordered, since it holds a shape. This depends on the relationship of the molecules in the solid, including how much they can move around with respect to one another. The moving of atoms uses kinetic energy. One way to put energy in a system is to add heat energy. So, if you add heat to solid water (ice), eventually the molecules get moving enough to break their rigid bonds with each other, and the solid collapses into a shapeless flowing form: liquid water. Remove that energy (take away heat by refrigeration) and the water becomes solid again.
fusion
The process of changing from a solid to a liquid is called melting. A substance's melting point is the temperature at which it changes from a solid to a liquid.

When a solid changes state into a liquid, it is said to melt, or to have melted. The change is called melting.

This physical phenomenon (a change of phase) is called melting; during melting the chemical nature of molecules is not changed but the bonds between molecules are weakened.

The process of changing a solid to a liquid is freezing. For example, when ice is heated, it melts into water, which is a solid. This can be done by increasing the temperature.
