The most common symptoms of lupus include joint pain and inflammation, profound fatigue, muscle pain, rashes, fevers, hair loss, photosensitivity, chest pain upon deep breathing etc. Lupus is an autoimmune disease that can affect any and every part of the body. While lupus can indeed be life threatening, Most cases are mild to moderate. Lupus is managed with immunosuppressive medications and lifestyle changes. The majority of lupus patients can expect to live a pretty normal life span.
