The relationship of the sun and the moon to the earth?

The Moon is the Earth's natural satellite. It orbits the Earth once every 28 days approximately.

The Earth, together with the Moon orbit the Sun . The orbit takes one year to complete. In that time the Moon has orbited the Earth 13 times.

The orbital track of the Earth is NOT a smooth curve about the Sun, but more like a wavy line, because the Moon's gravity 'pulls & pushes' the Earth's orbital track about the Sun.

Also because the plane of the Moon's orbit is angled at about 5 degrees to the plain of the Earth's orbit about the Sun, the Moon pulls that Earth 'up and down' out of its orbital plane. Its like the Earth & Moon 'dance' through space.
