To enter the cells, however, it needs insulin, a chemical released by the pancreas. it produces ATP i.e., Adenosine Tri Phosphate which is the source of energy for the cells of our body. Eating sugar doesn't cause Diabetes. Diabetes is of two types (i)Diabetes Mellitus - caused by the deficiency of insulin. (ii)Diabetes Insipidus - caused by the Hormonal deficiency.(hormone:Vasopressin) the general diabetes is diabetes mellitus often reffered as diabetes.
