The Bureau of Labor Statistics lumps all religious leaders into the category of "clergy." The average annual salary for all clergy in the United States, according to the BLS was $46,960 as of May 2009. Because of the nature of deacons' work, a deacon may be able to earn that much money annually, if not more.
That depends on the local diocese. Most often, deacons get no pay and serve with no salary at all. However, if assigned full time to a particular ministry, salary is possible and would be consistent with that paid to a lay person in the same position, such as Director of Religious Education or Pastoral Associate. But this is the exception not the rule.
Zero $$
Most deacons do not get paid, they are volunteers. However, if they are full time and in special circumstances they receive an average salary of around 40,000 dollars a year. Sometimes they receive free room and board.
deacon
Robert Deacon goes by Deacon.
Any Deacon in the Catholic Church can be married when he becomes a Deacon. But if he is not married when he becomes a Deacon he cannot get married. Also if a married Deacon's wife should die he cannot get remarried so a transitional deacon may be married if not married when he becomes a deacon he would be a permanent deacon.
Well, I suppose the Deacon dies. Poor Deacon.
Uhhh.. Deacon.
He was a deacon and a martyr.
Robert Deacon's birth name is Robert Paul Deacon.
Jimmy Deacon died in 1976.
Deacon .
Are you kidding with me? There is no deacon of the United States. A deacon is someone who helps priests at a parish.
