I don't know if things are being resized but I bought sod today and it measures 16 inches by 48 inches from a national home improvement chain store in San Diego CA.

A house that is dug into a hill (like a cave) that is covered in sod to insulate the inside. The opening to it is usually surrounded by split logs. here is a picture! :)
This depends on your own piece of cheese.
Roll the sod out on smooth black dirt. Push the sod strips together do there is not to big of a gapso the routes will not dry out then also sprinkle little bits of dirt on gaps along edges and joins to seal. Then water a fair bit to help establish a route system. And it should grow.
