Many years ago, I heard it was a small naval refueling depot on the West Coast of the USA. Maybe this is the one: Ammunition Depot Indian Island

Port Hadlock, Washington

A new command officially joined the four major US Navy installations of Navy Region Northwest during a brief ceremony 27 April 2000. The former Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, Detachment Port Hadlock, officially became Naval Magazine Indian Island. The 2,716-acre facility now reports directly to the region commander rather than a series of others in the Southwest. The mission of providing ordnance-related support including receipt, storage, issuance, and inspection did not change, nor did the staffing of approximately 12 active duty members and 124 civil service and contract employees. Effective 01 October 1999, Naval Magazine [NAVMAG] Indian Island (formally known as Port Hadlock Weapons Detachment) had its support moved from the southwest region (Seal Beach) to the northwest region (Subase Bangor).

What is offered below is overshadowed by even a smaller US Army post which is barely 98 acres - Fort Lesley J. McNair in Washington, DC. The fort is also the third oldest established in 1791 when Pierre L'enfant laid out the capital city . The acres include National Defense University, the National War College, I C A F, Militay District of Washington, Center of Military History and up until 2012, Alpha Company 3d Infantry - "The Old Guard" - the oldest infantry unit in the US Army. The company moved to Fort Myer, VA.

The two smallest US Army installations are Watervliet Arsenal, NY, at 142 acres, and the US Army Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA (formerly known as Natick Labs), which is on several campuses--the biggest is 78 acres, and with all the outparcels put together it's about 120 acres. These are also two of the most interesting posts--USASSC is the place the Army invents a lot of things like new uniforms and new field rations, and Watervliet Arsenal is where they make all the tank and artillery barrels used in the United States.
