The original Zip Disks (1994) were 100 Mb, but this was expanded to 250 Mb (1998) and then to 750 Mb (2002).
Finally, Iomega saw the handwriting on the wall (flash drives, camera memory) and put out a Zip-650, which was a standard external CD burner, and began marketing USB drives.
They also marketed the Ditto Tape Drives, Clik 40 Mb drives, and the Jaz external 2 GB drive.
250mb is the capacity for a zip disk
The early Zip drives had just 100MB.
Most zip disk tended to be between 100 and 250 Mb but the largest i know of is about 750 Mb
Zip discs have a capacity of 100, 250, or 750 megabytes.
Zip disks come in three different sizes: 100MB, 250MB and 750MB. The Zip Drive must also be compatible with the size of disk in use.
The original disks came with a storage capacity of 100MB - the latest versions can store 750 MB.
They store about 100 megabytes.

A zip disk is a disk which can be read by a Zip drive.
Zip disks can hold 100 megabytes. Today's hard drives usually hold 250 gigabytes, smaller ones are around 100 gigabytes, and large ones are upwards of 500 gigabytes. One gigabyte is 1000 megabytes, so the typical hard drive can hold 2,500 times more than a zip disk. To answer the question in one word, no.
There are three different capacities of ZIP disks, 100 MB, 250 MB, and 750 MB. A 100 MB disk holds 104,857,600 bytes, a 250 MB disk holds 262,144,000 bytes, and a 750 MB disk holds 786,432,000 bytes.
As strange as it may seem, you write to a zip disk using a zip drive...Zip drives are pretty much out of favor now, everyone is using DVD's, flash drives and external hard drives. But if you need to read an old zip disk, see if you can find an old I-Omega zip drive. I would offer to sell you mine but it's long gone.
What came after floppy disk
Zip disk
A Zip disk, and a CD-ROM are two completely different storage devices ! The Zip Disk was (in simple terms) a high-capacity disk, It was superseded by the invention of the CD-ROM, which offered much higher reliability and capacities. The invention of the Zip-disk was attributed to its marketing company Iomega - no single person has been credited with its invention.
A zip disk is a removable storage device that is designed to fit in a zip drive. Zip disks were first produced in 1995. Zip disks cannot be read by any other drive, and a zip drive cannot read any other disks.
