Why a cricketer need more carbohydrates in his diet?

For energy- cricket is an active sport that demands high physical fitness and a sustained energy level, whereas teaching does not require nearly so much (unless it happens to be Physical Education or similar). In the body, carbohydrates are converted into sugars which provide the body with the energy it needs for physical activity. Clearly, a demanding professional-level cricket match is going to require more of this than the comparatively static activity of teaching a class of youngsters. Not that teaching is without it's physical demands- teachers often have to stand for long periods of time, science teachers need to be active in demonstrating or supervising experiments, and games teachers will need the equivalent amount of carbohydrates as amateur sportsmen (indeed, a lot of them ARE amateur sportsmane!) Also, female teachers who are pregnant need higher carbohydrate levels to cope with the demands of their job alongside their condition.
