The 1966 silver 10 Shilling coin, issued by Ireland to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Easter Uprising, is worth about US$15 in Extremely Fine condition, $30 in Uncirculated, $35 in Brilliant Uncirculated and $45 in Proof. It contains 0.4860 troy ounces of silver, and so has a "melt value" (as of March 5, 2009) of approximately $6.44. Note that, of the approximately 2 million coins produced, an estimated 1.27 million were subsequently melted down.
A Bank of England 1966 Ten Shilling note (Series C - red/brown)(Chief Cashier J.Q. Hollom - depending on the serial number), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch anything up to £32 GBP. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch anything from £2 to £18 GBP.
A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation.
