1895 is not considered a rare date for Indian Head Cents. In average circulated condition, it's worth about a dollar.

More:The 1895 Indian Head Cent was only minted in Phialdelphia so the value depends on what condition the coin is in. According to USA Coin Book, a coin in good condition is worth about $2.75 up to around $40 in MS60 mint condition. A coin in MS63 choice uncirculated grade is worth about $60. Proof coins were also minted in Philadelphia and those are worth about $310 in PR63 choice proof condition.

Look on the front of the coin to see if there's a small mint mark letter below the date. It may be blank or there may be a D or S.

Numismedia lists the following approximate retail values as of March 2012.

No mint mark (Philadelphia):

Very worn condition - $0.20

Moderately worn - $0.50

Slightly worn - $3.22

Almost no wear - $5.75

Uncirculated - $13.20-$85 depending on condition

"D" mint mark (Denver):

Very worn condition - $0.63 Moderately worn - $1.04

Slightly worn - $5.73

Almost no wear - $33.60

Uncirculated - $62.40-$624 depending on condition

"S" mint mark (San Francisco):

Very worn condition - $0.25

Moderately worn - $1.15

Slightly worn - $5.18

Almost no wear - $16-$19.20

Uncirculated - $51.60-$572 depending on condition

These values are approximate from the best available sources. Values will change over time.

The year of 1890 is the penny style of the Indian Head Cent minted from 1859-1909. In determining the value of this perticular cent you must determine the grade of the coin. The prices range from 1.65 - 1535.00. The average circulated condition for this cent is about 3.00. Odds are this penny will be worth around 3.00 or so. Hope This helps.

A British 1895 bronze Penny (Victoria), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to £70 GBP. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch anything from £2 to £18 GBP.

A British 1895 bronze Penny (Victoria)(low tide and "P" 2mm from trident), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to £875 GBP. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch anything from £65 to £300 GBP.

The values quoted are the best possible for the best specimens in their grades, but may be significantly lower due to varying demand for the coin and the prevailing economic climate. A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation based on inspection of the coin.
