Utah is very popular for it's outdoor recreation. Several of the best ski and Snowboarding resorts in the country are located in Utah. These ski resorts are filled with hikers in the warm months. Moab in southern Utah is a mountain-biking heaven. People love to visit the lakes in utah, which are perfect for waterskiing. The mosto popular are Lake Powell, Bear Lake and Utah Lake. The Great Salt Lake is a must-see but the water is too salty for a typical ski boat.
Vernal, Utah is famous for everything dinosaur related, and is a great place for families with young kids to explore the world of dinosaurs.
There are also many historic pioneer-era towns that are popular spots for tourists.
In Salt Lake City, Temple Square, the international headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church), is exteremely popular. It is open to the public and holds many free activities and concerts for visitors. Other tourist attractions are major league sporting events, 2002 Olympic venues, museums, and the Bingham Copper Mines.
