Istanbal is unique because it was once the city of constantinople which was the capital of the Byzantine empire then the Ottoman Empire after there conguest of Byzantine empire, it is the capital of Turkey, and it is the port city where the small strait is that leads from the Aegean Sea to the Black Sea.
