If your talking about the engine computer. Did you put the prom [aka chip]from your old cumpter in the new one? You need to do This
I had the same problem on a 1984 Mazda Rx7 and it turned out to be the PCM (power control module).
You probably have a control module going out on your car.
I would replace the control module within the distributor ( $ 25.00) It is not hard to do. This module is a microprocessor and as they age they are sensitive to heat. As you drive your car it warms up and shuts off.
1996 Chevrolet cavalier shuts off while driving and have to put in natural or park to restart
Replace your control module.
replacing the engine control module should solve your problem it sounds like you are having a common problem. when the engine control module overheats it shuts down when its cool its fine.start with that and then move to the coil pack and pick up coil
fuel pumps about to go out -or more likely your electronic control module is failing.
it does not have a safety switch you can reset. If the ecm (engine control module) detects no rpms it shuts down the fuel pump.
Ignition module
between 130-140 ks
If you mean a inertia switch that shuts off the fuel pump in case of a wreck or something, No. The computer shuts it off if the engine is not running.
Chevy Cavalier is a shity car. Ditch and buy something of value. Then sell your Mama on e-bay. I hear she is hot.
