If you are talking about the one that pops out of your steeringwheel then try pressing the horn really hard to try and fix it because it might just be a very small gap between the cover and the sensor for your air bag
AnswerIt is a possibilty that your alternator belt is loose and or the alternator is going bad. Check to see if the belt is bad or worn. Sometimes that is the problem before running the battery down.
When I installed an after market stereo, I started my truck (03 Frontier, V6) with the connections to the center console DISCONNECTED. My airbag light came on. I later read not to cycle the ignition switch while the cig lighter, hazard button, pass airbag switch is disconnected. I can only hope/ assume the airbags will deploy if the time comes?
That means that something is wrong with the air bag circuits, probably a bad connection, sensor or igniter.
The only way to disarm the drivers side airbag in a 1999 Tacoma is to pull all of the airbag fuses. You will have a constant flashing light on your dash once you pull these fuses.

On the passenger side you must remove the air filter box. You will need a small arm to reach the light but it is possible. One of the reasons I will never buy another one. On the divers side it is much easier. Remove the air valve and you can reach the light. Good luck the first time. It is not an easy job. the manufacture has designed this to make you want to take it to the dealer to have this done.
