What is wrong with the air conditioner in a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport if it only blows cold air sometimes and hot air at other times?

i had the same problem and after i removed the tape from the compressor wires uncovering the diode. i re taped it and it seems find now. going on 2 years .
Answerhe problem could be that the low level sensor is switching the compressor off because the fluid is low. you cannot fix this yourself, you must take to a certified facility to fix. Good luck, BadgirlAnsweri don't think about the idea of not repairing by yourself, you could buy a kit from A/C recharging like EZ, then plug one of the hoses with the GAUGE included on the kit and try to meassure the pressure (PSI), don't worry the SET has instructions, and you could make the recharge in matter of minutes otherwise you will have to pay 200 for the service!Wiki User
