Surely, in view of all the different ideas about God, we need a way to know what is true, a standard that people can agree on. To illustrate: Suppose that there is an argument at the market about the length of a piece of cloth. You see, the seller says the cloth is three yards, but the buyer thinks it is less than that. So how can the matter be resolved? Well, its by the measuring of the cloth with a yardstick.
So is there a yardstick, a standard, for deciding religious matters? Yes, it is The Bible. You see, God had the Bible written so that people everywhere could learn the truth about him. You see, there are billions of copies that have been printed. It has also been translated, in whole or in part, into over 2,100 languages. You see, just about everybody can read the truth about God in his own language.
Remember that the Bible is indeed a precious gift from God. It really explains things that we could otherwise never know. It tells us about those who have and still live in the spirit realm. It also reveals God's thoughts, his personality, and his purpose. It even tells of his dealings with people over thousands of years. And it talks of things that will happen in the future. And most importantly, it shows us all, how we can find the road to everlasting life.- Read John 17:3
Jewish view:
God is One. The concept of a dualism (as in Zoroastrianism), an independent Satan, multiple gods (polytheism; paganism) or a trinity of three in one, are all unimaginable in Judaism. Also, any belief that an intermediary between humanity and God should be used, whether as necessary or even optional, is considered heretical.
God created the universe and all existence, including time and space.
He is non-physical, indivisible and incomparable. Jewish tradition teaches that God is beyond human comprehension; and that it is only God's revealed deeds, as He interacts with mankind and the world, that we can begin to grasp.
The God of Israel is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is the guide of history, who delivered the Israelites from Egyptian slavery.
God is the source of morality and law, who gave the Torah to the Israelites at Mount Sinai.
God is immanent and personal, meaning that he relates to humanity and hears our prayers. This is the basis of the Psalms and our siddur (prayerbook). See also:

The Puritans view of God was based solely upon the Word of God, the Bible, and was manifest in their holy living and zeal for God's Word. John Bunyan, who wrote The Pilgrim's Progress, was perhaps the most famous of the Puritans, and if you read his book you will discover what was the puritans view of God.
Atheists would view God as imaginary, therefore the nature of the concept would be human-originated.

The rationalists' view of God is that he is unlikely to exist in the way organized religions believe. Rationalists believe in using reason.
