All Hondas actually require 85 octane; but considering that we dont have 85 octane in the U.S, 87 is sufficient. if any other octane is used; there will be an abundant amount of carbon build up. As for oil---i use 10-30 in my 2000 Honda Civic. I know it says to use 5-30, but after about 50,000 miles, 10-30 is recommended because that is enough time for the piston rings and cylinder walls to "loosen up". GOOD LUCK AND I KNOW YOU WILL HAVE MANY YEARS WITH YOUR HONDA ACCORD
