USC administers more than a dozen types of scholarships. It would be difficult to find a top 30 national university that offers more generous scholarships than USC. Each year USC offers 100 four-year Trustee Scholarships that cover the entire cost of tuition at USC, which presently (as of March 2010) is almost $40,000 per school year. Each year USC offers 200 four-year Presidential Scholarships that cover half the cost of tuition at USC. USC also awards half-tuition scholarships to all National Merit Finalists admitted to USC who name USC as their first choice school on a form filed with the National Merit Corporation. Through various alumni or current student groups, USC also administers scholarship programs for students in various ethnic groups, for international students, for Jewish students, for children and grandchildren of alumni, for students from California, and for LGBT students. Various schools within USC also offer partial scholarships and of course USC offers athletic scholarships as well. Furthermore, USC offers scholarships each year to current students who had high GPAs for the previous school year at USC. USC also offers scholarships to transfer students and offers need-based grants that do not have to be repaid.
Some sports offer full rides, some offer partials and some offer nothing.
