The purpose of Laxatives is not to lose weight. Using laxatives to lose weight is dangerous to say the least. At best, it promotes a dependency on them, making normal bowel movements difficult to impossible without them.

The body is an adaptable thing, but if you are trying to use laxatives to lose weight, please seek professional psychiatric help. It is often the sign of a much more serious and potentially dangerous problem.

Laxatives do not cause weight loss. Any difference you might see on the scale is simply water weight. Calorie absorption occurs in the small intestine and laxatives empty the waste left in the large intestines so it isn't affecting how many calories you a taking in. Basically you are losing poo weight that will come back as soon as you stop taking them and rehydrate. It's useless, a waste of money, painful, and not pleasant to have buttpee leaking out periodically.

While laxatives can cause weight loss, it usually is only temporary as they just act to clear out your system of food and waste. They do not actually burn fat or calories or make you lose any real substantive weight. Also, laxatives cna be VERY danergous and even potentially fatal and should be used only in dire situations. Even then, only natural laxatives should be used.
