When you are painting, you would add white or another light color.
If you're using coloured light, then mixing all colours(in appropriate amounts) will produce white light. If you're using paint, a mix of several colours will usually end up basically brown.
White, as Cyan in blue and green, add red you then have all three colours hence white.
If you mix white and purple, you will get lavender, which is a light purple.
White light is the full spectrum of visible light. So in order to get true white light you need to add violet, blue, yellow, orange, and red.
if your are using paint, then mix red with a tiny dab of white. if you are using crayons/colored pencils, then color red lightly. if it's not as light as you want it to be,then add white.
If you add black to a color, you will darken it. If you add white to a color you will lighten it. How dark/light you want the color to be depends on the amount of black or white you mix in. But be careful of using too much black. It can leave you with a muddy tone instead of a nice color. If you have to darken more than a shade, it would be better to use the color's opposite on the color wheel. White should be no problem.
Add white to any shade of blue to make it lighter and add more blue to make it darker. If you add white to any colour it will make it lighter.
red + blue = purple add white to any color and you get a lighter version of the same color. so pastel purple
Light and the sky = white Color/paint = poop colored brown
Add blue and white paint and you will you have the color you want. It's always best to add blue to white rather than the other way around. Otherwise you may need enormous quantities of white to get the color as light as you want.
Blue with white, add small amounts of blue to white until you reach your desired shade. It is easier and will use less paint if you add the darker colour to the lighter colour.
