What was the first martial arts scene in american cinema?

I've read that the Charlie Chan film series included martial arts. The first of these, The House Without a Key, came out in 1926. Several more films were created steadily through the 40s, but I am unsure which movie includes martial arts, or if the styles shown were authentic or just the typical "karate chop" schlock. Many of the films are accessible on YouTube, so you can find out for yourself. I do know that the American actor James Cagney was a Judoka, a practitioner of Judo. He had a very memorable fight scene were he used the style in the film Blood On the Sun (1945). You can watch it on YouTube, just search "Blood On the Sun - Judo Fight." This may be the first authentic representation of martial arts in American cinema.
