In all my cars I use synthetic oil, from the 07 vette to my 69 z28, the major difference between the two lubricants is that petroleum based oils, (non-synthetic), leave a carbon build-up, or sludge, all over inside your engine, they also tend to break down over time, also extreme hot and cold will also shorten the oils lifespan or viscosity. So if you love your car, or cars as I do, use synthetic oil, it is more expensive, but there is no breakdown of the oil in the extreme's, you buy 5-30w, that's what it stays at, after time, usually 50k (recommended) between changes, (I change mine at 10k), the syn will still be a 5-30w, or if the engine is brand new or a rebuild, the first thing you will notice is no gunk when you break the motor down to adjust the valves or whatever, anyway, your engine will thank you for it. jr
