What personal qualities do you need to become a author?

First, you take grammar. Usually you learn the difference between a/an in about 3rd grade.

Next, you start writing. Anyone that can write with good grammar is automatically an author. Anyone who fails the grammar test is called a hack.

I would suggest a course in creative writing or a bachelor in english, whilst these aren't necessary to become an author they do look quite impressive on a CV or Resume.

To become a successful author, you need creativity, perseverance, strong writing skills, and the ability to handle rejection and criticism. It's also important to have passion for storytelling and a willingness to continually learn and improve your craft.

To become an author, you must have tremendous self-discipline. Writing is hard work. It takes dedication, persistance and concentration. Unless you work for a newspaper, there won't be anyone to tell you what to do or when to write. There are lots of people who have written only the first chapter of a book. This is not a matter of education but of personal character.
